Summer programming is off to a great start here at Young Scholars LPP!

Summer Program

This summer, we welcome our new cohort of Young Scholars and our rising 8th and 9th graders to Utica University for three weeks of classes to prepare them for middle school and high school. We have about 180 students on the Utica University (UU) campus!  Students have daily classes in English, Math, and Science to prepare them for the rigors of middle school and high school coursework. These classes are supplemented with two wellness-focused classes, Young Scholars and gym, which students have every other day. All core classes are taught by NYS certified teachers, many of whom came from our very own Utica City School District, and we also welcomed 12/13  Young Scholars alum as TA’s!

STEAM Scholars

Along with the 180 Summer Program students, we have 41 of our rising sophomores, juniors and seniors are attending our 3 week STEAM program at Utica University. The students are taking courses in Computer Science, Physics, Communications and Art taught by Utica University Professors; Dr. Mroczek, Dr. Rivera, Dr. Haas, and Dr. Turkakin.
